What is The European Pain Federation, EFIC®? 

The European Pain Federation EFIC® is a multidisciplinary professional organisation in the field of pain research and medicine, consisting of the 37 European Chapters of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP®). Established in 1993, EFIC's constituent Chapters represent the Pain Societies of 37 European countries, and more than 20,000 physicians, basic researchers, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals across Europe. They are all involved in pain treatment, management and research. From its headquarters in Diegem/Brussels, the federation runs its educational programmes such as the European Diploma in Pain Medicine and examination, Pain Schools, its journal, the European Journal of Pain, and support for its members in activities such as the European Year against Pain and national and international meetings.
